Making an out of year request for in-year admission
You will need to submit 2 application forms together with your supporting evidence:
The admission authority for the school will consider your child's circumstances and decide whether or not it is in their best interest to be placed outside their normal year group.
The admission authority will take into account relevant information, such as:
- the parent’s views
- information about the child’s academic, social and emotional development
- the child’s medical history and the views of a medical professional
- whether the child has previously been educated out of their normal year group
- the views of the head teacher
The approval of an out-of-year request does not guarantee a school place.
If there are no places available, your child's name will be added to the approved year group waiting list for your preferred school(s).
An offer will only be made if your child is eligible for a place under the school’s published oversubscription criteria.
