Hate crime

A hate crime is a crime committed against someone because of their disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity or nationality.

Hate crimes can include:

  • threatening behaviour
  • verbal abuse
  • physical assault
  • damage to property
  • inciting others to commit hate crimes
  • harassment
  • online abuse

How to report a hate crime

1.  Report it to the police
